Adding up to the heat and excitement to India Vs Pakistan match at The Gabba on February 15th, Iconic Bollywood actor and multi-faceted personality, Amitabh Bhachchan is all set to join the world of commentary.
Buzz is that Bachchan has been roped in as a commentator for the ICC World Cup’s India-Pakistan match. The interesting integration has brought alive by Star Sports and the makers of Shamitabh.
In the Dhanush starrer, Bachchan plays an old, fading superstar who lends his voice to a deaf and mute actor (Dhanush). Keeping in sync with the film’s storyline, Bachchan will be doing commentary in his deep baritone voice during the Cricket match.
Thus, come Feb 15, the star will be joining the likes of Kapil Dev, Shoaib Akhtar and Harsha Bhogle for the mega event. Confirming the news, the superstar of Bollywood has been quoted by a publication saying, “This country’s emotions are ruled by two things — Cricket and cinema. For me, it’s an exciting time on both fronts. My movie is releasing on February 6 and then, I have the privilege of making my commentary debut.”
Shamitabh film -maker R Balki confirmed the news and said that Amitabh’s commetary debut will double as promotion for his movie Shamitabh, besides exciting millions on both sides of the border.
“Mr Bachchan’s voice is the star of my film Shamitabh. The plot revolves around the baritone. There’s nothing that Mr. Bachchan’s voice can’t do. I think two voices, Lata Mangeshkar and Amitabh Bachchan, unite India and Pakistan better than anything else.”
