Charity event at University of Bath for Kerala Orphanage

A charity fundraising event is to be held on Saturday 20th October 2012 at the University of Bath to support  the construction of a new home for the children at

Valsalya Bhavan orphanage. The construction is on schedule, to be finished by the end of January 2013.

The ticket for this event is £30 which includes a 3 course Indian meal together with singing and music and an auction. The items for the auction include a week’s stay for 2 at Sree Chithra Ayurvedic Home in Kerala.

The event is organised by Christine Snow of Kerala Craft, a charity based in Bath.

Kerala Crafts Supports 4 projects in Kerala,

  • Vimala Welfare Centre – meeting the needs of marginalised women.
  • Valsalya Bhavan – an orphanage for girls aged between 5 and 16 years old
  • Adelaide Bhavan – independent living for older orphaned girls
  • Malabar Memsahib – a small women’s stitching co-operative in mid-Kerala
