Kalyana Samayal Saadham – Movie Review by Common Man
Kalyana Samayal Saadham (KSS) – Trailer & Mella Sirithai, with an innovative concept and one of the best editing had raised some expectation for this movie among urban youngsters. Prasanna is a very good actor, who didn’t get right opportunity to hit big in Tamil Cinema. The film is about present generation couple, suffering to cope up with all the rituals which happen during the traditional wedding. Let us see whether it will satisfy Common Man in this review.
Story: First half of the movie deals on how friendship & love develops between arranged marriage couples – Prasanna & Lekha. Movie had been certified as U/A as there are few scenes in the first half which is related with IMPOTENCY (Men Private Part Not Standing Up). It has been handled in a proper way by the Director and he not used vulgar dialogues. First half of the movie was fully engaging with adult-oriented comedy scenes which are related with theme of the movie. Second half – Director has struggled a little here as the story is a simple one and have kept scenes which were little melodramatic and slows down the screenplay.
Kalyana Samayal Saadham Tamil Movie
Prasanna – He had to be appreciated for acting in this role, which 7 out of 10 actors will not accept. Movies with this kind of adult script are very common in Hollywood & Bollywood, but this is new to Tamil Cinema and Prasanna has to be appreciated for doing it boldly. He has done the role with ease.
Lekha Washington – Former S.S. Music TV Anchor and who acted in sister’s role in Jayam Kondaen & Mental role in “Va Quarter Cutting” had made a strong come back to Tamil Cinema with a role which provides her an excellent opportunity to perform in various scenes. She looks beautiful in most of the scenes and looks little matured in few scenes.
All the supporting actors – Leading actor’s friends, Delhi Ganesh, Uma Padmanaban, Crazy Mohan (cameo) have done a great job.
Cinematography by Krishnan Vasanth adds more value to the movie. Most of the movie happens inside four walls and he has made sure that audience doesn’t feel it.
Music by Arrora was too good. Songs were good & his BGM does full justice to comedy & romantic scenes.
Editing by Sathyaraj was awesome. His editing for the song “Mella Sirithai” was fantabulous.
In a State, where people feel shy or bad to talk about Sex, he has boldly taken a movie which speaks about Impotency. People will not even put Like or Share the posts in FB, which are related with adult comedy contents, though they will read and enjoy it. Director RS Prasanna had to be really appreciated for taking a movie with adult content and not spoiling with vulgar / glamorous scenes. It is a very sensitive subject, but he has taken it in such a way that each and every scene make us laugh.
First half of the movie was extremely good with engaging screenplay & meaningful comedy scenes which are related with the script (which is rare in Tamil Cinema now). First half of the movie is definitely new to Tamil Cinema audience due to the Adult Content.
In the second half, it drags a little as there is not much story in the movie and he has kept scenes which we have seen in most of the FEEL GOOD movies in Tamil Cinema.
Overall, KSS is a FEEL GOOD ROMANTIC COMEDY MOVIE strictly for Urban Youngsters & Multiplex as it needs matured audience to accept the theme of the movie.
