The Nehru Centre in London is a part of The Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR). ICCR, an autonomous organisation affiliated to the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, runs 34 other cultural centres besides London, including in Berlin, Moscow, Johannesburg, Cairo and Colombo. These centres function as part of the diplomatic missions of the Government of India of those countries with the objective of serving as windows into the composite culture of India.
A dance offering on selected compositions of Tanjavur Kingdom: Nrutyam Darshayami
The Tanjavur rulers were multi-lingual and have made huge contributions to the fields of Drama, Literature and Dance through their beautiful works in Sanskrit, Telugu, Tamil and Marathi languages. The performance on 11 July at the Nehru Centre explores the beauty and the meaning of the compositions through dance. Time: 6.30 pm
