Sundar Subbiah does charity bike ride for DSA
On 30th June 2013, LA FITNESS organised a Capital to Coast charity bike ride from London to Brighton. The bike ride was done to raise money for Downs Syndrome and Norwood Charities. Around 2000 riders joined together on a scenic, fun cycle ride along open country roads. The riders were given 4 different routes to choose from – the brand new 75 mile route from the EDF Energy London Eye, a 60 mile roundtrip from Brighton to Brighton, the original 60 mile route from Esher to Brighton or the 30 mile route from Haywards Heath to Brighton.
Mr. Sundar Subbiah, from High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, was keen to do the 30-mile charity ride as soon as he heard that the Charity Bike ride was in aid of Down’s Syndrome Association (DSA – Registered Charity No. 1061474), which is the only organisation in England, Wales and Northern Ireland which supports people with Down’s syndrome at every stage of life. The Down’s Syndrome Association (DSA) is a British charity which describes itself as being the only organisation in the United Kingdom which focuses solely on all aspects of living successfully with Down’s syndrome. The Association was founded in 1970 as a local group and now has 20,000 members and about 126 local groups.
Sundar Subbiah successfully completed his Charity bike ride in Brighton on Sunday 30-Jun-2013!
Mr. Subbiah finished his ride successfully in Brighton after riding through the picturesque country roads. When asked about the route, he felt that overall the route had ideal riding conditions with a perfect balance of plains and slight elevations. However, ‘Devils Dyke’, just before entering Brighton, was a killer due to its rapid ascend and elevation. Though tired, he seemed to be in good spirits. He thanked his friends and family who had supported him by sponsoring him and also being there in person to cheer him at the finish line. He said that he wants to continue being a part of such charity events in the future and urged his friends and family to join him in such charitable events to support the community.
BritishSouthIndians takes this opportunity to wish Mr. Subbiah all the very best in all his future attainments.
