UK set to announce 396 new scholarships to attract Indian students

The United Kingdom is all ready to announce 396 scholarships new scholarships. This is in a bid to attract the Indian students to the British Universities. This is especially after the visa norms have become strict wherein the Indian students find it very difficult to stay in United Kingdom. They are not even allowed to work after the completion of their degrees. Hence these new scholarships will definitely attract a large number of aspiring Indian students to the British Universities. These scholarships will help the students to study in United Kingdom and at the same time work there once they complete their studies.

The secretary of state for business, innovation and skills Mr. Vince Cable will be announcing all the 396 new scholarships. This is a part of the 1.5 million pounds UK government funded program which was finalized during his weeklong visit to India. Mr. Vince Cable also will be launching the New Education UK Alumni Awards – in this process he intends to invite all the Indian students who have completed their undergraduate degrees in United Kingdom to return to their alma mater and this will be a visit for which the expenses will be paid by UK government.

He is also focusing on the advanced manufacturing and trade investment flow sectors. These scholarships will be applied across 57 British Universities by the year 2015. This senior Liberal Democratic MP is considered as the most outspoken critic in the United Kingdom. He has criticized the immigration policies of United Kingdom – mentioning that because of these policies there is a sharp decrease in the number of students from India.

Mr. Vince Cable categorically mentioned that he wants to send a strong message the United Kingdom values the Indian students a lot and he would like them to be back in British Universities. He also admitted that there were many issues related to post studies for the students in United Kingdom. He also had a scheduled meeting with finance minister Mr. Arun Jaitley in New Delhi and further Mr. Vince Cable will be addressing the students of BITS Pilani campus in Goa.

Mr. Vince Cable mentioned that many top level officials come to India and it is very nice to have them but once they are gone where the follow up for the schemes or provisions is happening and hence Mr. Vince Cable said that he wants to make sure that there shall be continuous flow of good businesses among both the countries.
